Landlubbers beware! The waters around this island are treacherous. But is it safer on the island than in the waters?

Builder Elven Ranger provides a fun backstory with this piece and promises that this is the first of a 3 part miniseries. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

There’s clearly some really nice rock work here with quite a variety of different parts used (even legs!) to achieve all the angles and nooks and crannies while the usage of one color keeps it feeling cohesive. There’s plenty of lush foliage atop the rocks and draping down them. I love how one of the roots dangling down is built from a minifig hand.

The abundance of clear cheese slope pieces on the water really provide a sense of choppy, turbulent waters. And the shipwrecked explorer’s makeshift raft is on an angled surface creating a subtle wave effect.

There are already at least 2 intriguing mysteries in this scene. The first is who tied the unfortunate soul to the side of the rocks? …and why? …and are they still here?! Next is what is that small structure on top of the rocks? I’m looking forward to the rest of this series!
